Charter School Accruals for 2015-16 4th Quarter Lottery & 2016-17 Projected Funding

2015-16 Accruals

Based on figures from the California State Lottery Commission (CSLC), the California Department of Education estimates total lottery funding for 2015-16 to be $194.53 per ADA. This amount is a combination of $146.47 of Unrestricted Revenues and $48.36 of Proposition 20 Restricted Revenue.

 

Thru the third quarter of 2015-16 $125.46 of Unrestricted Revenues and $26.25 of Restricted Revenues had been previously apportioned. As a result, schools should accrue the following amounts for 2015-16 fourth quarter lottery: $21.01 Unrestricted and $22.11 Restricted.

 

2016-17 Projected Lottery Revenue

Based on June 2016 figures, the CSLC is projecting a total of $1.49 billion pass thru funding for education during the 2016-17 school year. Based on this estimate, lottery funding is projected to be $189 per ADA in 2016-17. The per-ADA total of $189 will be split between Unrestricted ($144) and Prop 20 Restricted ($45) revenue sources.
