Charter School Accruals for 2014-15 4th Quarter Lottery & 2015-16 Projected Funding

2014-15 Accruals

Based on figures from the California State Lottery Commission (CSLC), the California Department of Education estimates total lottery funding for 2014-15 to be $161.85 per ADA. This amount is a combination of $127.88 of Unrestricted Revenues and $33.87 of Proposition 20 Restricted Revenue.

Thru the third quarter of 2014-15 $108.89 of Unrestricted Revenues and $13.96 of Restricted Revenues had been previously apportioned. As a result, schools should accrue the following amounts for 2014-15 fourth quarter lottery: $19.09 Unrestricted and $19.91 Restricted.

2015-16 Projected Lottery Revenue

Based on June 2015 figures, the CSLC is projecting a total of $1.4 billion pass thru funding for education during the 2015-16 school year. Based on this estimate, lottery funding is projected to be $181 per ADA in 2015-16. The per-ADA total of $181 will be split between Unrestricted ($140) and Prop 20 Restricted ($41) revenue sources.
